IMA Reach Hub

ImageThe new EU Chemicals Policy, known as REACH – Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals published on 30 December 2006 in the Official Journal of the European Union – entered into force on 1 June 2007. According to REACH, more than 100,000 substances marketed in the EU, including industrial minerals, have to face new obligations.

The IMA REACH Hub is set up by IMA-Europe, the European Industrial Minerals Association (more information on www.ima-europe.eu) to facilitate the implementation of REACH in the industrial minerals sector. Its mission is:

  • to provide assistance to manufacturers, importers and downstream users of industrial minerals in dealing with their obligations under REACH;

  • to propose standardised procedures for the implementation of REACH within its existing stakeholders network, and promote its achievements beyond this network;

  • to act as an interface with authorities and other stakeholders, notably by coordinating when required consortia for registration under REACH;

  • to collaborate with other REACH-related helpdesks in a proactive way in order to share queries and experience efficiently.

The IMA REACH Hub website you are about to enter fulfils these objectives in the simplest possible way: a document database provides you with general and specific industrial minerals REACH-related information.
